We don't have any nuts in the majority of our cupcakes (except the Indulgent range) but we do advise that there may be traces of nuts as our kitchen is not a nut free kitchen.

All of our cakes and cupcakes have eggs. Our decorations also contain eggs. We don't have any dairy free cupcakes or lactose free cupcakes.

We encourage you to enjoy our cupcakes at their freshest on the day of purchase. However, they will stay fresh for up to two days if they are stored correctly.

We recommend storing the cupcakes at room temperature and as airtight as possible. Please do not refrigerate our cupcakes.

We recommend storing the cake in the fridge overnight and then taking it out about 3-4 hours before your event to bring back to room temperature.

Please note: All our cupcakes/cakes are individually handmade and made to order with great care and attention to detail. Therefore, slight variations in colour, design, and decoration may occur. While we make every effort to replicate the design you have chosen as closely as possible, we cannot guarantee an exact match. Each cupcake is unique, and these variations are part of what makes your cake one of a kind. Thank you for understanding and supporting our business. Please click here for our FAQs

What theme works best for an elegant wedding reception?

Elegant weddings often use timeless themes such as classic white, pastel florals, or metallic accents. The Two Tier Wedding Cake, with its smooth buttercream finish and floral detailing, blends seamlessly into these styles, serving as both dessert and décor. It’s versatile enough to suit modern minimalist receptions or more romantic, garden-inspired celebrations.

What should I serve for dessert at my wedding?

Wedding dessert tables work best when they strike a balance between variety and presentation. Couples often choose:

  • A centrepiece cake such as the Two Tier Wedding Cake

  • Smaller items like cupcakes or mini desserts for guests to enjoy easily

  • Seasonal fruit platters or chocolates for light variety

The wedding cake becomes the highlight, while other items round out the table.

What is cake perfect for a modern wedding?

For a modern wedding, couples often prefer simple, elegant designs that still exude a luxurious feel. The Two Tier Wedding Cake has a refined look with smooth buttercream and floral arrangements, offering a contemporary yet romantic finish. It creates a clean, sophisticated aesthetic without being over-complicated.

What are the most popular wedding cake trends in 2025?

Current wedding cake trends include buttercream finishes, floral decorations, and multi-tiered designs that are elegant yet understated. The Two Tier Wedding Cake reflects these trends, combining a smooth finish with floral elements that are stylish and timeless. Couples are moving away from heavy fondant and towards lighter, natural finishes.

How is a two-tier cake usually decorated for weddings?

A two-tier wedding cake is typically decorated with fresh or sugar flowers, piped details, and a smooth icing base. The Two Tier Wedding Cake is adorned with floral arrangements that add romance and refinement, while its buttercream finish provides a modern, natural look. A topper of your choice can also be added to personalise the design.

How many guests does a two-tier wedding cake typically serve?

The cake is available in several size options:

  • 4 inch and 6 inch – up to 28 serves

  • 6 inch and 8 inch – up to 55 serves

  • 8 inch and 10 inch – up to 85 serves

This makes the Two Tier Wedding Cake suitable for both intimate weddings and larger receptions.

What flavour combinations are most popular for wedding cakes?

Flavour options for the Two Tier Wedding Cake include:

  • Vanilla

  • Chocolate

  • Marble (Vanilla and Chocolate)

  • Red Velvet

These flavours are chosen for their balance of popularity and ability to complement a wide range of menus.

Can I personalise a two-tier floral cake with initials or a wedding date?

Yes, the Two Tier Wedding Cake can be personalised with toppers, hand-piped writing, or added decorative elements. Many couples choose initials, names, or dates to make the cake unique to their celebration.

How far in advance should I order a two-tiered wedding cake?

Orders for the Two Tier Wedding Cake require at least 4 business days’ notice. This ensures it is baked fresh, decorated with floral arrangements, and ready for collection or delivery.

How long will a wedding cake with buttercream and florals stay fresh?

The cake is best enjoyed on the day but will remain fresh for up to 48 hours if stored correctly. Keep it in a cool, dry area away from sunlight, or refrigerate lightly if needed. Bring to room temperature before serving to ensure the buttercream is soft and flavourful.

Can a two-tier cake be delivered to a wedding venue in Sydney?

Yes, you can choose between:

  • Pick-up: Unit 6, 43 Herbert Street, Artarmon NSW 2064

  • Delivery: Sydney-wide delivery is available, with costs calculated at checkout

This makes it easy to coordinate with your venue and wedding schedule.

How do you make a two-tier wedding cake at home?

Making a two-tier cake yourself requires:

  1. Baking multiple sponge layers in your chosen flavour.

  2. Stacking cakes with dowels or supports for stability.

  3. Covered with buttercream and smoothed to a finish.

  4. Adding flowers and toppers for decoration.

It is undoubtedly difficult to make your own tiered wedding cake at home, especially when you are trying to organise all other aspects of your ceremony and reception. Ordering the Two Tier Wedding Cake from The Cupcake Factory provides this professional look without the stress, saving couples time in the lead-up to the wedding.

Why do couples choose a floral wedding cake instead of a plain tiered cake?

Floral cakes bring romance, elegance, and a sense of occasion to the reception. The Two Tier Wedding Cake combines fresh floral accents with smooth buttercream, creating a balance of simplicity and sophistication. It acts as a centrepiece, something a plain cake cannot achieve in the same way.

What makes a two-tiered wedding cake different from traditional fondant wedding cakes?

Fondant cakes offer a very formal style but can feel heavy and dated. A buttercream design like the Two Tier Wedding Cake feels lighter, fresher, and more in line with current trends. It allows for natural floral decoration and a softer, more romantic aesthetic.
